2017 Seattle Youth & Law Forum

The 2017 Youth & Law Forum is a FREE event offered to youth and their parents/guardians to provide practical information about the justice system as well as facilitate a discussion surrounding legal rights and responsibilities in a safe environment. The keynote address will be given by Angela Rye, an attorney and CEO of IMPACT Strategies, a political advocacy firm in Washington, D.C. Additionally, representatives from local and federal court systems, local Police offices, the Washington State Bar and the University of Washington School of Social Work will also be in attendance.

2017 topics include:  

  • Youth Homelessness
  • Appropriate responses to traffic and safety stops
  • The benefits and perils of social media
  • Careers in law enforcement
  • Entertainment and the law
  • Responses to trauma associated with bullying, harassment, racism and community violence
  • Accessing behavioral health wellness resources
